Return of Olympus, A Novel New Stablecoin Design, Tokenize Everything

A few of our favorite reads that people might have missed this past week.
“What You’re Missing - OHM”
What Is It?
Johneo |3,3 on X posted an excellent article outlining a lot of interesting developments that have been happening behind the scenes with OHM and Olympus.
Why We Liked It?
I know what you might be thinking and yes, this is that OHM. Olympus had a meteoric rise before a dramatic meltdown last cycle. I urge you to at least look at OHM with fresh eyes (I say that as someone who roundtripped some large paper gains with OHM). I’ve been seeing more signs that it’s beginning to look like a tale of two protocols (I have no bags). Of course with everything in DeFi, approach it with a healthy degree of skepticism.
I’ve loosely followed OHM for the past few years, but some of the mechanism designs they’ve implemented have been truly cutting edge for DeFi. Also, if I were to just talk about what everyone is talking about, there would be no “Edge” in reading any of this. I plan on writing more about Olympus soon and will share it with you all. I sense the potential for a violent comeback arc here (keyword “potential”).
Hot take:
$OHM becomes one of the biggest mindshare projects of this cycle once again.

The goal was simple but ambitious: build something that can’t go to zero. Spoiler alert: they did it. The treasury, the backing, the protocol’s ability to repurchase over half its supply during a brutal bear market—it’s all proof that OHM’s bones are solid. But what’s flying under the radar is how it’s maturing to fulfill it's mission. This isn’t just a “store of value” play; it’s a full-on financial ecosystem in the making.

“Type III Stablecoins”
What Is It?
Stablecoins are evolving fast. Benjamin and Jae the builders behind CAP Labs, talk about 3 distinct types of stablecoins from Type I (Ethena) to Type II (Maker/Sky) to Type III (CAP).
Why We Liked It?
Everyone and their mother are trying to figure out ways to get exposure to the stablecoin sector. CAP introduces a novel new design that has the potential to scale while also bringing in new and competitive yield streams to DeFi. We have a full length podcast coming up on CAP 👀 (Bullish)
unless a paradigm shift happens in the fundamental design of these stablecoins, we are again bound to face the same risks and fatigue that have prevented us from scaling in the first place. Thus, it is time to grow beyond the limitations of having human judgment in the capital allocation process and create an incentive-aligned system that is more efficient, scalable, and safe.

“Larry Fink’s 2025 Annual Chairman’s Letter to Investors”
What Is It?
Larry Fink share his annual letter to investors and its quite bullish for crypto.
Why We Liked It?
If you told me 4 years ago Blackrock would have a tokenized fund on Ethereum (called Buidl lol) with $1.8B of assets onchain, I would not have believed you.
There’s a lot of validation and legitimacy that comes from TradFi choosing to expand operations onto blockchains. There’s real efficiency gains and improvements that can be had vs traditional rails.
Check out the quote below. Larry is not shying away from being bullish on tokenization. In fact, he seems to be getting louder and building more conviction (we’ve all been there haven’t we?).
I mean just read this:
"Every stock, every bond, every fund—every asset—can be tokenized. If they are, it will revolutionize investing. Markets wouldn't need to close. Transactions that currently take days would clear in seconds. And billions of dollars currently immobilized by settlement delays could be reinvested immediately back into the economy, generating more growth."
